The BIONZ XR processing engine works with an AI processing unit for subject recognition, autofocus and tracking.

Fast Hybrid AF with Subject Recognition
Phase-detection and contrast-detection autofocus with up to 759 phase-detection points for stills and 495 for movies, operating from EV-3 to EV20. Recognized subjects for stills and movies: human, animal, bird, insect, car, train and airplane. An AF illuminator is built in.

4K Video up to 120p in 10-bit 4:2:2
Records 3840 x 2160 at up to 119.88p in XAVC HS and XAVC S with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling, and XAVC S-I 4K at up to 600 Mbps. Full HD is available up to 119.88p. Slow & Quick Motion, proxy recording and timecode/user bit are supported, and the HDMI output carries 4K in YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit.

5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
Sensor-shift mechanism compensating on five axes, rated at 5.0 stops by the CIPA standard (pitch/yaw, measured with the FE 50mm F1.2 GM lens). Movie recording offers Active, Standard and Off stabilization modes.

11 fps Continuous Shooting
Hi+ drive at up to 11 fps, with a buffer of approximately 59 RAW frames or over 1000 JPEG Fine L frames. Shutter speeds run from 1/4000 s (mechanical) or 1/8000 s (electronic) to 30 s, plus Bulb with the mechanical shutter; anti-flicker shooting is available.

XGA OLED Viewfinder and Vari-Angle Touchscreen
1.0 cm (0.39-type) XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 2,359,296 dots, approximately 1.07x magnification and a selectable 60 or 120 fps refresh rate. The 7.5 cm (3.0-type) TFT touch panel has 1,036,800 dots, opens approximately 176 degrees and rotates approximately 270 degrees.

Connectivity and USB Streaming
USB Type-C (SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps), HDMI micro (Type-D), 3.5 mm microphone and headphone jacks, a Multi Interface Shoe with digital audio interface, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. USB streaming supports 3840 x 2160 at up to 30p and 1920 x 1080 at up to 60p.

NP-FZ100 Battery with USB PD
The supplied NP-FZ100 battery is rated at approximately 550 shots with the viewfinder or 570 with the LCD (CIPA), and approximately 95 to 100 minutes of actual movie recording. The camera charges and runs over USB Type-C with USB PD.
