Package
This listing is the DJI RS 4 Combo package. It includes the gimbal, the BG21 Battery Grip, a quick-release plate (Arca-Swiss/Manfrotto), the plastic Extended Grip/Tripod, a lens-fastening support, two multi-camera control cables (USB-C, 30 cm), a USB-C charging cable (40 cm), a screw kit, a briefcase handle, a carrying case, the DJI Focus Pro Motor with its rod mount kit, a focus gear strip and a FIZ sticker. The specifications below describe the gimbal.

Payload and Stabilization
Tested payload is 3 kg (6.6 lbs). The gimbal runs the 4th-Gen RS Stabilization Algorithm. Pan, tilt and roll each turn at up to 360°/s. Camera and lens compatibility is listed on the DJI Ronin Series Compatibility page.

Native Vertical Shooting
The horizontal plate provides 2nd-Gen native vertical shooting: it is released and re-secured in the vertical position, with no additional accessories. DJI states the gimbal needs rebalancing after switching between horizontal and vertical.

Axis Locks and Touchscreen
The gimbal has 2nd-Gen automated axis locks. The OLED touchscreen has an auto-lock and, while locked, displays the current gimbal and joystick modes.

Balancing
All three axes have a Teflon coating for balancing. A fine-tuning knob on the tilt axis adjusts the camera position forward or backward, and the upper quick-release plate has an adjustable placement guide.

Battery and Charging
The battery grip (LiPo 2S, 3000 mAh, 21 Wh) runs for up to 12 hours with the gimbal balanced and stationary. Charging takes approximately 2.5 hours with an 18W fast charger; DJI recommends PD chargers. The gimbal can be used while charging. The DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip, sold separately, extends runtime to 29.5 hours and can power a camera or accessories at up to 18 W from its USB-C port. The RS 4 battery grip also fits the DJI RS 3 but not the RS 4 Pro.

Camera and Gimbal Control
Dual-Mode Bluetooth controls the camera shutter and lens zoom wirelessly; a camera pairs once and reconnects automatically. The joystick mode switch changes the joystick between gimbal movement and zoom control, where it drives Power Zoom on PZ lenses and Clear Image Zoom. The gimbal mode switch selects PF, PTF or FPV, and FPV can be set to 3D Roll 360 or Custom. The trigger can be customized, for example to hold FPV mode. Intelligent features include Motionlapse, Track and Panorama; ActiveTrack is available with the DJI Ronin Image Transmitter (sold separately) and follows one subject.

Accessory Ecosystem
The RSA communication port connects the DJI RS Tethered Control Handle and third-party control handles and remote-control ring handles. With the DJI Focus Pro Motor, included in the Combo, focus is controlled by the dial and zoom by the joystick. The DJI Ronin Image Transmitter adds live feeds, remote gimbal and camera control, ActiveTrack 4.0 and Force Mobile. The RS BG30 Battery Grip and RS Focus Motor (2022) are also compatible. The DJI RS SDK lets developers add functions. The RS Tethered Control Handle, ring handles, Ronin Image Transmitter, RS BG30 Battery Grip and RS Focus Motor (2022) are sold separately.

Build, Weight and Dimensions
The body is primarily aluminum alloy. The gimbal weighs approximately 1066 g, the grip approximately 203 g, the plastic Extended Grip/Tripod approximately 183 g and the quick-release plates approximately 98 g. Folded size is 244.2×115.9×251.1 mm; unfolded with grip it is 218.8×190.7×369 mm. Operating temperature is -20° to 45° C. The ports are not waterproof or dustproof. The DJI Ronin app (iOS or Android) is required for first-time activation.
