Package
This listing is the DJI RS 4 Mini Combo package. It includes the gimbal, the DJI RS Intelligent Tracking Module, a quick-release plate, the RS 4 Mini Tripod, an L-shaped multi-camera control cable (USB-C, 30 cm), a USB-C charging cable (40 cm), a screw kit and the RS 4 Mini Briefcase Handle. The specifications below describe the DJI RS 4 Mini gimbal.

Payload and Weight
The gimbal weighs approximately 890 g and has a tested payload of 0.4-2 kg (0.88-4.4 lbs). DJI lists a Sony A7 series camera with the 24-70 mm F2.8 GM II lens and a DJI Mic series receiver, and vlog cameras such as the Sony ZV series, as supported setups. DJI states it holds zoom to maximum focal length without rebalancing on these combinations: Canon R5 with RF 24-70 mm F2.8, Sony A7S3 with FE 24-70 mm F2.8 GM2, Nikon Z7 2 with Z 24-70 mm F2.8 and Lumix S5 with L 20-60 mm F3.5-5.6. Other camera and lens combinations are listed in the DJI camera compatibility list. A smartphone can be mounted with the DJI RS 4 Mini Phone Holder, sold separately; the gimbal must be rebalanced whenever the payload changes.

Axis Locks and Vertical Shooting
The automated axis locks unlock when the gimbal powers on and lock when it powers off or sleeps, and the axis arms fold for storage. For vertical shooting, the quick-release plate mounts on the vertical arm; no vertical camera mount or other accessory is needed.

Balancing
Teflon interlayers on the pan and roll axes are used for balancing. A fine-tuning knob on the tilt axis moves the camera forward or backward for millimeter-level adjustment, and the upper quick-release plate has three positioning slots that also serve as position memory when the camera is removed and reattached.

Stabilization and Follow Modes
The 4th-Gen RS Stabilization Algorithm is used for vertical shooting, running and low-angle shots and automatically calibrates motor strength for different cameras. Two follow modes are available: Responsive, for the start and end of a move such as an orbit shot, and Smooth, for regular follow shots and parallel tracking. Gimbal modes are PF, PTF, FPV, 3D Roll 360 and Custom.

Camera Control
After Bluetooth pairing, the record button starts and stops recording on the camera or phone, and the joystick controls Power Zoom on Sony PZ lenses and Sony Clear Image Zoom. A camera pairs once and reconnects automatically; one camera connects at a time. Cameras can also be connected with the included L-shaped multi-camera control cable (USB-C, 30 cm). The front dial controls focus, ISO, aperture, shutter or gimbal axis movement. The touchscreen auto-locks and, while locked, displays the current gimbal and joystick modes.

Battery and Charging
The 3100 mAh, 22.32 Wh battery runs for up to 13 hours with the gimbal balanced and stationary. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour 50 minutes with a 30W charger, and a 30-minute charge gives approximately 5 hours of use. DJI recommends a PD charger of 30 W or above. The gimbal can be used while charging.

Tracking Module Support
The DJI RS Intelligent Tracking Module, included in the Combo, attaches magnetically to the tilt axis and tracks one human subject at a distance of 0.5-10 m. Tracking starts or stops with one press of the trigger or an open palm shown to the module; a V sign starts or stops recording. Composition can be set to center the subject or keep the current framing. Tracking works in PF and PTF modes only, and DJI recommends environments with three people or fewer and no backlight.

Ports and Compatibility
The NATO port on the side takes accessories such as the RS 4 Mini Briefcase Handle (included in the Combo), a fill light or a microphone, and the 1/4″-20 hole on the bottom takes a tripod. The RSS camera control port is USB-C and a pogo pin connects the tracking module. The RS 4 Mini does not support Ronin series focus motors, the LiDAR Range Finder, the Ronin Image Transmitter, the RS 3D Focus System or the expansion base kit for vehicle mounting.

Build and Dimensions
The body is primarily aluminum alloy and plastic. Folded size is 236×64×316 mm; unfolded it is 175×182×338 mm. Operating temperature is -10° to 45° C. The gimbal is not waterproof or dustproof. The DJI Ronin app (iOS or Android) is required.
