Full-Frame 24.5MP Sensor
FX format 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor measuring 35.9 x 23.9 mm, with 26.79 million total pixels and 24.5 million effective pixels. ISO runs 100 to 51200 and can be raised by approximately 0.3, 0.7, 1 or 2 stops to an ISO 204800 equivalent. When the recording file type is R3D NE 12-bit, a low base ISO of 800 or a high base ISO of 6400 can be selected.

Internal 6K R3D NE RAW
R3D NE is recorded internally at 6048×3402 up to 59.94p in 12-bit, without an external recorder. N-RAW is available at the same resolutions, and Apple ProRes RAW HQ records 6048×3402 up to 29.97p and 4032×2268 up to 59.94p. YUV options cover Apple ProRes 422 HQ at 5376×3024, H.265/HEVC in 8-bit and 10-bit, and H.264/AVC.

High Frame Rates
4K at 3984×2240 records up to 119.88p in RAW, and Full HD at 1920×1080 reaches 239.76p. Slow-motion video is available in H.264/AVC at 120fps to 30fps, 100fps to 25fps and 120fps to 24fps.

RED Colour Science
Dynamic range is 15+ stops on the Log3G10 curve, with the REDWideGamutRGB colour space. Gamma curve options are Log3G10, N-Log, SDR and HLG. The camera accepts 17, 33 and 65-point LUTs.

4-Inch Monitor
4.0-inch vari-angle monitor rated at 1000 cd/m2 with DCI-P3 coverage and LUT monitoring. A waveform display, red REC frame indicator and recording display zoom at 50%, 100%, 200% and 400% are available. There is no viewfinder.

32-Bit Float Audio
Linear PCM at 48 kHz in 24-bit or 32-bit float, recorded via the built-in microphone or a 3.5 mm stereo mini-pin jack, with no external recorder required. External audio devices connect through the line input and the digital accessory shoe. OZO Audio provides directivity, and attenuator, frequency response and wind noise reduction functions are available.

Autofocus
Deep learning based subject detection recognises nine subject types, including people, animals and vehicles.

Stabilisation and Body
5-axis in-camera vibration reduction, with electronic vibration reduction available for video. The magnesium alloy body is dust and drip resistant and uses a fan-less passive heat dissipation structure. Recording runs up to approximately 360 minutes in supported formats at 25 degrees C with an external power source.

Dual Card Slots
One CFexpress (Type B) / XQD slot and one microSD slot supporting UHS-I microSDHC and microSDXC. Either card can be used for overflow or backup, for separate storage of RAW and JPEG or HEIF, or for duplicate JPEG or HEIF at different sizes.
