24.2MP Full-Frame Exmor R CMOS Sensor
35 mm full-frame (35.6 x 23.8 mm) back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with approximately 24.2 effective megapixels and 25.3 total. Records RAW (Sony ARW 2.3) and JPEG at up to 6000 x 4000 pixels, and an anti-dust system combines a charge-protection coating with the sensor-shift mechanism.

Sensitivity up to ISO 51200
For stills the sensitivity range is ISO 100-51200, expandable to ISO 50-204800. Long exposure noise reduction and high ISO noise reduction settings are provided.

693-Point Fast Hybrid AF
Fast Hybrid AF combines 693 phase-detection points across the full-frame area with 425 contrast-detection points, operating from EV-3 to EV20. Focus modes include AF-A, AF-S, AF-C, DMF and manual focus, with Eye AF, Lock-on AF and face registration for up to 8 faces.

10 fps Continuous Shooting with AF/AE Tracking
Hi+ mode shoots at up to 10 fps and Hi at up to 8 fps with autofocus and auto-exposure tracking. In Hi+ mode the buffer holds approximately 89 compressed RAW, 40 uncompressed RAW or 163 JPEG Extra Fine frames (Sony test conditions, UHS-II SDXC card). Shutter speeds run from 1/8000 to 30 s plus Bulb, with electronic front curtain shutter and silent shooting options.

4K HDR Movie Recording
Records 4K HDR movies in XAVC S (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264), with AVCHD also available; XAVC S recording at 100 Mbps needs an SDHC or SDXC card rated UHS Speed Class 3 (U3). Audio is LPCM 2ch in XAVC S from the built-in stereo microphone or the 3.5 mm microphone input, with a headphone jack for monitoring. The HDMI micro output carries 4K movie output.

5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
Sensor-shift mechanism compensating on five axes, rated at 5.0 stops by the CIPA standard (pitch/yaw, measured with the Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens).

OLED Viewfinder and Tilting Touchscreen
1.3 cm (0.5-type) XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 2,359,296 dots, 100% field coverage and approximately 0.78x magnification. The 7.5 cm (3.0-type) TFT touch panel has 921,600 dots and tilts up approximately 107 degrees and down approximately 41 degrees.

Dual Card Slots
Slot 1 accepts SD cards (UHS-I/II compliant); slot 2 is a multi slot that accepts SD (UHS-I compliant) cards and Memory Stick Duo-format media. Recording across the two cards includes simultaneous recording, sorting by JPEG/RAW or still/movie, auto switch media and copy.

Connectivity
USB Type-C (SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1) and Multi/Micro USB terminals, HDMI micro (Type-D), 3.5 mm microphone and headphone jacks, a Multi Interface Shoe and a vertical grip connector. Built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n, 2.4 GHz), NFC one-touch sharing and Bluetooth 4.1.

The NP-FZ100 battery is rated at approximately 610 shots with the viewfinder or 710 with the LCD (CIPA) and charges in-camera over USB.
