18-50mm Focal Range
18-50mm zoom for APS-C mirrorless cameras, equivalent to 27-75mm in the 35mm format. Angle of view 76.5 degrees at the wide end to 31.7 degrees at the telephoto end on Sony E-mount.
Constant f/2.8 Aperture
Maximum aperture of f/2.8 across the whole zoom range. Minimum aperture f/22. 7-blade rounded diaphragm.
Optical Construction
13 elements in 10 groups, with 1 SLD glass element and 3 glass-molded aspherical elements. The design relies on the camera’s own aberration correction for distortion and vignetting, on cameras that support it.
Close Focusing
Minimum focusing distance of 12.1 cm at the wide end and 30 cm at the telephoto end. Maximum magnification ratio 1:2.8 at the wide end and 1:5 at the telephoto end. Sigma advises removing the hood when shooting at the wide-end minimum distance.
Stepping Motor Autofocus
Autofocus is driven by a stepping motor. Supports DMF and AF+MF.

Mount and Build
