This listing is the DJI RS 5 Combo package. It includes the gimbal, the DJI RS BG33 Battery Grip, the Quick-Open Tripod, the RS 5 upper and lower quick-release plates, a lens-fastening support, a screw kit, a multi-camera control cable (USB-C, 30 cm), an L-shaped cable (USB-C, 13 cm), a carrying case, the DJI RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module and the Electronic Briefcase Handle. The specifications below describe the gimbal.

Payload and Stabilization
Tested payload is 3.0 kg (6.6 lbs). The gimbal runs the 5th-Gen RS Stabilization Algorithm for walking, running and vertical shooting. Pan, tilt and roll each turn at up to 360°/s. DJI lists example setups such as Sony FX3/A7M4/A7C/A1 with FE 24-70mm F2.8, Canon R5 Mark II with RF 24-70mm F2.8, Nikon Z6 III/Z7 II with Z 24-70mm F2.8, Panasonic S5M2 with 24-60mm F2.8 and Fujifilm X-T5 with XF 16-55mm F2.8. Balancing and Quick-Release Plates
Each axis arm has a fine-tuning knob driven by a leadscrew, and the arms use Teflon interlayers for balancing. The dual-layered quick-release system pairs an Arca-Swiss upper plate with a Manfrotto lower plate, so the camera can move between gimbal and tripod without rebalancing thanks to position memory. The upper plate has an adjustable guide for camera mounting.

Automated Axis Locks and Vertical Shooting
The 2nd-Gen automated axis locks engage when the gimbal powers off or sleeps and release when it powers on. To switch to vertical shooting, loosen and press the single-side knob, remove the horizontal plate, rotate it 90° and tighten it again. DJI states the tilt and pan axes do not need rebalancing after switching between horizontal and vertical.

Battery and Charging
The DJI RS BG33 Battery Grip (LiPo 4S, 2150 mAh, 33.29 Wh) gives approximately 14 hours of standby time with the gimbal balanced and stationary. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour with a 65W charger supporting PD. The gimbal can be used while charging. The DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip, sold separately, extends standby time to 30 hours.

Camera Control
Dual-Mode Bluetooth links the gimbal to the camera: press the camera control button halfway for autofocus, once to start or stop recording, and hold to take a photo. The joystick can drive Power Zoom on Sony PZ lenses and Sony Clear Image Zoom. Bluetooth shutter works with Sony, Canon and Nikon cameras and, with the latest camera firmware, specific Panasonic and Fujifilm models. A mode switch moves between PF, PTF and FPV; FPV can be set to 3D Roll 360 or Custom. A Z-Axis Indicator gives feedback on footsteps while walking.

Tracking Module Support
The DJI RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module attaches magnetically and shows its tracking view on the gimbal touchscreen, where a subject can be framed and selected. It can track a person, a vehicle or a pet, one subject at a time, with a tracking distance of 0.5-10 m, and can reacquire a person who leaves the frame within 2 seconds. Palm, V and Double L gestures start or stop tracking, recording and composition changes. Tracking works in PF and PTF modes only.

Ports and Accessory Ecosystem
Ports: RSA/NATO ports, a 1/4″-20 mounting hole, a cold shoe, a camera control port (USB-C) and a multifunctional port (USB-C). The RSA port connects the Electronic Briefcase Handle, the RS Tethered Control Handle and remote-control ring handles. With two DJI Focus Pro Motors the joystick adjusts zoom and the dial adjusts focus. DJI SDR Transmission provides live feeds and remote gimbal and camera control. The RS SDK is open to third-party developers. The Electronic Briefcase Handle is included in the Combo; the RS Tethered Control Handle, ring handles, Focus Pro Motors and SDR Transmission are sold separately.

Build, Weight and Dimensions
The body is primarily aluminum alloy. The gimbal weighs approximately 1193 g including the upper and lower quick-release plates, the grip approximately 274 g and the Quick-Open Tripod approximately 149 g. Folded size is 247.4×115.7×258.7 mm; unfolded with grip it is 223.2×192.2×418.8 mm. Operating temperature is -20° to 45° C. The ports are not waterproof or dustproof. The Ronin app requires iOS 14.0 or Android 9.0 or above.
