Nikon Z7 II 45.7MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Body – Dual EXPEED 6, 4K60 Video, 493-Point AF, 5-Axis VR

45.7MP BSI Sensor and Dual EXPEED 6
The Z7 II uses a 45.7-megapixel full-frame (FX-format) backside illuminated CMOS sensor measuring 35.9 x 23.9 mm with no optical low-pass filter, paired with two EXPEED 6 processing engines. Standard ISO sensitivity covers 64 to 25600, expandable to ISO 32 and ISO 102400 equivalents, and NEF (RAW) files can be recorded at 12 or 14 bits.

493-Point Hybrid Autofocus
The hybrid phase-detection/contrast AF system offers 493 focus points, counted for still photography on the FX image area with the AF-area mode set to single-point, with 90% frame coverage and a detection range of -3 to +19 EV, or -4 to +19 EV with low-light AF, measured at ISO 100 with an f/2.0 lens at 20 degrees C. Eye-Detection AF locks onto the eyes of people, dogs and cats for both stills and video, in the wide-area AF (L-people) and (L-animals) modes and in the auto-area AF (people) and (animals) modes.

Up to 10 fps Continuous Shooting
High-speed continuous (extended) shooting reaches approximately 10 fps, or approximately 9 fps with 14-bit NEF (RAW). The mechanical shutter runs from 1/8000 to 30 s, which can be extended to 900 s in mode M, and flash sync is 1/200 s with Auto FP High-Speed Sync support.

4K UHD 60p Video
Video records at 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 60p, 50p, 30p, 25p or 24p, and Full HD (1920 x 1080) up to 120p, with Full HD slow-motion at 4x or 5x. Nikon restricts 4K UHD 60p to 8-bit and the FX image area, and states that it uses 93% of the sensor’s UHD coverage. Footage is stored as H.264/MPEG-4 AVC in MOV or MP4 files, and an external recorder can record 10-bit N-Log or HDR (HLG) output over HDMI. In-camera time-lapse movies, time codes, and adjustable AF speed and tracking sensitivity are included.

5-Axis In-Body Vibration Reduction
The 5-axis image sensor shift VR compensates for yaw, pitch, roll and X/Y movement, rated at up to 5 stops based on CIPA standards with the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S at the telephoto end.

Viewfinder and Tilting Touchscreen
The 0.5-inch OLED electronic viewfinder has approximately 3690k dots (Quad VGA), approximately 0.8x magnification, approximately 100% horizontal and 100% vertical frame coverage, and 11-level manual brightness control. The 3.2-inch tilting TFT touchscreen LCD has approximately 2100k dots and a 170-degree viewing angle.

Dual Card Slots
The first slot takes CFexpress Type B or XQD cards; the second takes SD, SDHC and SDXC (UHS-II) cards. The two slots can hold NEF (RAW) and JPEG copies apart from each other, mirror each other as a backup, or run as overflow.

Connectivity and Interfaces
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect to the SnapBridge app for remote photography and picture download, and to a computer with the Wireless Transmitter Utility. Ports include a Type-C SuperSpeed USB connector, a Type C HDMI connector, a 3.5 mm stereo microphone input with plug-in power, a 3.5 mm headphone output and an accessory terminal for the MC-DC2 remote cord. Over USB-C the camera can draw power, charge the battery, stream with the Webcam Utility and transfer files; Nikon specifies the optional UC-E25 cable for power and charging from a computer.

Build, Power and Dimensions
The chassis is made of magnesium alloy. Power comes from one EN-EL15c rechargeable Li-ion battery rated at approximately 380 shots with the viewfinder or 440 shots with the monitor per charge (CIPA, energy saving on), or about 100 minutes of video; EN-EL15b, EN-EL15a and EN-EL15 batteries can also be used with fewer pictures per charge. The optional MB-N11 battery pack adds vertical controls and takes two EN-EL15c batteries. The body measures approximately 134 x 100.5 x 69.5 mm (W x H x D) and weighs approximately 615 g.
