Maximum aperture of f/1.4. Minimum aperture f/16. 11-blade rounded diaphragm.

Optical Construction
The optical formula uses 14 elements arranged in 11 groups, among them 1 SLD glass element and 3 aspherical elements, aimed at suppressing astigmatism and field curvature, and at minimising sagittal coma flare toward the periphery of the image.

HLA Linear Motor Autofocus
HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) linear motor with a single double-sided aspherical focus element. Supports DMF and AF+MF, and AF assist on Sony E-mount.

Controls
Focus mode switch, aperture ring with a click on/off switch, aperture ring lock switch and an AFL button that can be assigned a function from the camera.

Barrel and Front Element Protection
The barrel has a dust- and splash-resistant structure, with Sigma’s water- and oil-repellent coating on the frontmost element. Sigma states that the structure permits use in light rain, but that this is not equivalent to being waterproof.

Close Focusing
Minimum focusing distance of 45 cm and maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.8.

Sony E-mount version: 78.2 mm maximum diameter, 111.5 mm length, 660 g. Filter size 72 mm.

Mount and Build
Sony E-mount with a brass bayonet mount. Made in Japan at Sigma’s Aizu factory.
